Fantastic Festival The 5-day festival on children’s content
Fantastic Festival The 5-day festival on children’s content included parents, teachers, writers, illustrators, media – a true meeting of creative minds. A place where the famous and not-so-famous exchanged ideas. AFCC sees many celebrities of the Asian and other writing and content world, yet allows a humble space for sharing and exchange.
As a writer I came back with a lot: a head teeming with new ideas, new solutions to stuck mss, and renewals of acquaintances; but most of all I came back with a sense of connection. A festival brings together, celebrates. AFCC did just that. It brought together Asians and others to celebrate Asia in its many hues and cultures and countries and through its creations for children.
We Asians hold the family sacred and the family revolves around the child. We Asians have a lot to give to the world and a lot to give each other. It is time Indian children know about Indonesian ones and Singapore children know about Bangladeshi ones – our children find a common heritage in all things Asian.
As an Asiaphile(if there is such a species) it is this connectedness that I have brought back from the Festival.
